Grounds & MaintenanceThe common areas of Marina Bay are maintained under contract. Various tasks include mowing, flowers, flags, banners, painting, maintenance, etc. which enhances our overall enjoyment of our community. RemindersGarbage Pick-up Garbage is picked up every Tuesday. There is a 3 unit limit with each unit weighing no more than 25 kg's or 55 lbs. Tags can be purchased at the Town of Sylvan Lake for additional bags at the cost of $1.00 each. The Town offices are located at 4926 – 50 Ave. and are open Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00 pm. It is important to note that a proper garbage receptacle is a must as garbage that contains food products is an attraction for crows and garbage, in plastic bags, left overnight for pick-up will assure that these birds will have it picked apart by morning and have it nicely spread over your lawn and surrounding area. We also have skunks around the neighborhood and if you want to have Mr. Skunk enjoying your garbage he might just decide to take up residence under your deck. Neighbours have banded together to retrieve garbage cans from the curbside after Tuesdays’ pick-up to insure that your can is not blowing down the street and is stored safely next to your house until you arrive back for your next visit. The Town of Sylvan Lake provides a transfer site where grass clipping, brush etc. can be dropped off free of charge or large items can be dumped at a fee based on weight. The transfer sight is located 2km east of town on Hwy 11A and the hours are: Wednesday – Saturday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Recycling is picked up every alternate Thursday. See calendar for Marina Bay schedule. The Town recycles cardboard, paper, glass, tin, #2 plastic, cardboard milk containers. All cardboard must be flat. Recycles can be left curbside in plastic bags, but the bags must be clear or open (untied) to insure proper identification and sorting at the truck on the street. Bags must be clearly marked “Recycle”. The green box can be obtained from the Town of Sylvan Lake, Public Works. (Across from Tim Hortons) Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm Water Conservation Water conservation is in effect in the Town of Sylvan Lake from May 1st until September 30th.
